Statement of Need
Aesthetic clinicians face the constant challenge of keeping ahead of the curve with evolving techniques and a broadening array of available products. In addition, to conduct appropriate patient assessments and create optimal treatment plans, they need an understanding of the effects of aging in the skin and deeper tissues, as they relate to aesthetic rejuvenation. This activity will provide participants with expert recommendations on the key characteristics of collagen-stimulating soft tissue fillers and how to apply best practices for facial rejuvenation, including integration of novel approaches and individualization based on anatomic assessment, extent of facial aging, and patient goals.

Target Audience
This activity has been designed to address the educational needs of dermatologists, plastic surgeons, facial plastic surgeons, ocular plastic surgeons, and ophthalmologists. It may also be of benefit to nurses and other healthcare providers who are involved in the field of aesthetic medicine.

Learning Objectives
Upon proper completion of this activity, participants should be better able to:
  • Describe the causes, processes, sites, and effects of aging in the skin and deeper tissues, as they relate to aesthetic rejuvenation of the face.
  • Evaluate recent clinical data on collagen-stimulating soft tissue fillers for facial rejuvenation, especially characteristics that affect treatment outcomes.
  • Design individualized treatment plans for facial rejuvenation that incorporate collagen-stimulating soft tissue fillers.
