Target Audience
This activity has been designed to address the educational needs of dermatologists; plastic surgeons; facial plastic surgeons; ocular plastic surgeons; ophthalmologists; medical professionals from the following disciplines: dermatology, plastic surgery, otolaryngology, ophthalmology, dermatologic surgery, cosmetic surgery, facial plastic surgery, and ocular plastic surgery. Learning Objectives
Upon proper completion of this activity, participants should be better able to:
  • Describe the physical properties of hyaluronic acid fillers in facial aesthetic medicine
  • Explain the aesthetic evaluation process as it relates to assessing and restoring volume to the aging face, including the patient consultation process, individualized treatment, and use of aesthetic scales
  • Review safe and effective use of hyaluronic acid fillers including appropriate facial treatment areas, variations in injection technique, injection plane, and product selection
  • Identify the possible adverse events associated with hyaluronic acid fillers, including strategies to avoid and to manage them
