Target Audience
This activity has been designed to meet the educational needs of physicians specializing in cardiology, interventional cardiology, anticoagulation, internal medicine, hospital medicine, pulmonary medicine, emergency medicine, and primary care. It will also benefit nurse practitioners and PAs, as well as other healthcare providers interested in anticoagulation management.
 
Learning Objectives
Upon proper completion of this activity, participants should be better able to:
  • Differentiate between good and poor candidates for nonwarfarin oral anticoagulation using evidence-based tools and guidance.
  • Determine appropriate, individualized selection and dosage of nonwarfarin oral anticoagulation in eligible patients.
  • Formulate an evidence-based anticoagulant reversal plan based on the nonwarfarin oral anticoagulant being used.
