Statement of Need
The growing popularity of facial aesthetic procedures has led to a disparity between treated areas and other areas that continue to show evidence of intrinsic and extrinsic aging. This has increased the desire for rejuvenating other body areas, including the neck, décolleté, upper arms, hands, abdomen, buttocks, and knees. To provide exceptional outcomes in an ever-changing, competitive industry, aesthetic physicians must deliver exceptional results throughout the face and body. This requires that they continually expand their knowledge and skills to master the art and science of this continuously evolving field.

This activity will offer established aesthetic physicians insights on the pathophysiology of aging in the skin and deeper tissues as they relate to aesthetic rejuvenation throughout the face and body; strategies for comprehensive patient assessment; analysis of the mechanisms of action, efficacy and safety of injectable biostimulatory soft tissue fillers and hyaluronic acid fillers; and expert guidance on individualizing treatment with biostimulatory soft tissue fillers for optimal aesthetic rejuvenation throughout the face and body based on anatomic assessment, patient goals, and agent characteristics.

Target Audience
This activity has been designed to meet the educational needs of established dermatologists, plastic surgeons, facial plastic surgeons, ocular plastic surgeons, and ophthalmologists who are currently using intermediate, advanced, or expert techniques in facial rejuvenation. It may also be of benefit to other physicians, nurses, and healthcare providers who are involved in the field of aesthetic medicine.

Learning Objectives
Upon proper completion of this activity, participants should be better able to:
  • Properly assess anatomic effects of aging throughout the face and body that can be treated with biostimulatory soft tissue fillers.
  • Interpret recent clinical data and expert insights on biostimulatory soft tissue fillers for aesthetic face and body rejuvenation, especially characteristics that influence patient outcomes.
  • Employ the latest, best practices for individualized face and body rejuvenation using biostimulatory soft tissue fillers based on anatomic assessment, extent of aging, and patient goals.
