Target Audience
This activity has been designed to address the educational needs of neurologists and physiatrists. It may also be of benefit to other physicians, nurses, and healthcare providers who perform injection therapy for movement disorders.

Statement of Need
In the specialties of neurology and physiatry, injection of botulinum neurotoxin (BoNT) is now the treatment of choice for a wide range of movement disorders and other neurologic conditions that typically cause pain and discomfort, interfere with quality of life, and require long-term treatment. To provide their patients with the optimal outcomes, clinicians must be able to accurately localize muscle targets and inject appropriate BoNT doses. This activity is designed to provide expert instruction for clinicians to enhance their skills using BoNT injection therapy, with the ultimate goal of improving outcomes for patients.

Learning Objectives
Upon proper completion of this activity, participants should be better able to:
  • Apply best practices for accurate delivery of botulinum neurotoxins to the appropriate target muscles for treatment of movement disorders, including use of ultrasonography-guided techniques.
