Target Audience
This activity has been designed to address the educational needs of dermatologists, dermatologic surgeons, plastic surgeons, facial plastic surgeons, oculoplastic surgeons, ophthalmologists, otolaryngologists, nurse practitioners, and PAs. It may also be of benefit to other physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers who are involved in the field of aesthetic medicine.

Statement of Need
During facial rejuvenation, treatment of age-related changes in the midface is essential because this area provides support for both the upper and lower face. A thorough grasp of the midface anatomy is especially important, as it guides appropriate patient assessment and technique, minimizing adverse events and facilitating the best outcomes. Aesthetic clinicians are challenged to keep up to date with an ever-increasing array of injectable fillers and evolving techniques and strategies for effective and safe individualized outcomes. Expert faculty in aesthetic medicine will drive this initiative, providing participants with practical guidance and instruction on how to differentiate and select from the wide variety of available hyaluronic acid (HA) soft tissue fillers, as well as the latest techniques and strategies for optimal facial rejuvenation, especially in the midface.

Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Differentiate among available HA fillers for nonsurgical aesthetic facial rejuvenation based on current data regarding relevant clinical characteristics, efficacy, and safety.
  • Establish individualized treatment plans for using HA fillers as part of nonsurgical facial rejuvenation based on anatomic assessment, patient goals, and agent characteristics.
