Target Audience

This activity has been designed to address the educational needs of allergists, dermatologists, and dermatology and allergy nurse practitioners (NPs) and PAs. It may also be of benefit to primary care physicians, NPs, and PAs, and other clinicians who are interested in the management of patients with chronic spontaneous urticaria (CSU).

Educational Provider

This activity is provided by Paradigm Medical Communications, LLC.

Supporter Acknowledgment

This activity is supported by an educational grant from Genentech, a member of the Roche Group.

Program Overview

CSU significantly impairs quality of life, yet treatment response varies despite guideline-directed therapy. Although anti-immunoglobulin E treatment has improved outcomes, up to half of antihistamine-resistant patients experience inadequate control, and a recent drug indication has introduced a second targeted option, raising new questions around patient selection. Join this Q&A discussion to review emerging trial data and explore how disease endotypes, biomarkers, and patient preferences can guide individualized treatment decisions in CSU.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Describe the current understanding of the inflammatory pathway of CSU and targets of advanced therapies
  • Outline endotypes of CSU and their characteristics, and potential use in management decisions
  • Develop treatment plans for antihistamine-refractory CSU
