Program Overview

New insights on the immunopathology of food allergy have led to development of cautious use of controlled exposure to food allergens through allergen immunotherapy and emerging use of monoclonal antibody therapy to interfere with the synthesis of immunoglobulin (IgE). Expert faculty will contextualize the mechanisms and available clinical trial data related to the use of biologic agents in food allergy as monotherapy and as adjunct therapy to allergen immunotherapy.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
  • Describe the immunopathology of FA and related mechanisms by which biologic agents may mediate FA
  • Summarize clinical trial safety and efficacy data related to the use of anti-IgE therapy in FA
