Target Audience
This activity has been designed to address the educational needs of pulmonologists, radiologists, and pathologists. It may also benefit primary care physicians, PAs, nurse practitioners, nurses, pharmacists, fellows, residents, and other allied healthcare providers who are interested or involved in the care of patients with interstitial lung diseases (ILDs).

Learning Objectives
Upon proper completion of this activity, participants should be better able to:

  • Differentiate idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) from other common ILDs, such as connective tissue disease ILD (CTD-ILD), accurately and efficiently using recommended clinical evaluation, radiologic testing, and pathologic testing as needed
  • Apply evidence informing the use of antifibrotic therapy, nonpharmacologic strategies, and management of risk factors and comorbidities in patients with IPF to formulate treatment plans
  • Individualize treatment of IPF based on patient characteristics and preferences, using shared decision-making
