  • Apply guideline-recommended risk assessment tools to evaluate risks of stroke and/or bleeding among patients with nonvalvular atrial fibrillation and/or venous thromboembolism.
  • Identify the various indications for, and contraindications to, the use of direct oral anticoagulants.
  • Choose evidence-based, individualized direct oral anticoagulant therapy based on individual patient characteristics.
