TARGET AUDIENCE
The educational design of this activity addresses the needs of physicians, nurses, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, pharmacists, and other HCPs involved in the treatment of patients with irritable bowel syndrome and/or chronic idiopathic constipation.

STATEMENT OF NEED
Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS, including subtypes) and chronic idiopathic constipation (CIC) are a significant burden to the healthcare system and, more importantly, to a patient's quality of life. While traditional therapies often fail to address global symptoms of IBS and CIC, novel treatmenet regimens target the pathophysiology of IBS and CIC and fulfill a previously unmet need by providing effective relief of both  bowel symptoms and abdominal pain. This interactive on-demand webinar will elucidate the efficacy and safety of these new agents and their role in a comprehensive treatment approach to achieve the goals of symptom relief and improved quality of life.

EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES
Upon proper completion of this activity, participants should be better able to:
  • Differentiate IBS (and subtypes) and CIC by applying evidence-based diagnostic criteria.
  • Identifiy communication techniques that foster shared decision-making among healthcare professionals and patients.
  • Incorporate new targeted therapies into treatment plans for patients with IBS (subtypes) or CIC, based on individual patient characteristics and current clinical evidence.
AGENDA
The content of this webinar is viewable on-demand, and participants may navigate through the chapters in any order and at their own pace at their convenience.
