TARGET AUDIENCE
This initiative has been designed to meet the educational needs of gastroenterologists and other specialists actively engaged in the management of patients with IBS (subtypes) and CC.

STATEMENT OF NEED
Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and subtypes and chronic constipation (CC) are prolonged, debilitating, and highly prevalent gastrointestinal conditions that negatively affect a patient’s quality of life; physically, emotionally, socially, and financially. This enduring webinar consists of a dynamic and interactive moderator-led discussion structured around didactic lectures and challenging real-world patient cases that showcase novel, evidence-based strategies for IBS (subtypes) and CC diagnosis, characterization, and treatment. Armed with this knowledge, gastroenterologists can better diagnose and characterize IBS (subtypes) and CC in clinical practice, create individualized treatment plans, and implement initiatives to ensure optimal communication and continuity of care among patients with IBS (subtypes) and CC.

EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES
Upon proper completion of this activity, participants should be better able to:
  • Describe current evidence-based approaches to accurately characterize IBS (subtypes) and CC in order to differentiate them from other medical conditions that present with similar symptoms.
  • Formulate individualized treatment plans for patients with IBS (subtypes) and CC based on unique patient characteristics and understanding of current clinical evidence.
  • Describe strategies for improving communication and increasing a coordinated approach for care of patients with IBS (subtypes) and CC among a multidisciplinary team of physicians and allied healthcare professionals.
